July through December 2019 Events

It was a very busy end to 2019 with so many events, we couldn't fit them all in. Here's just some of the recent happenings .....
July 14th.. Back to Big Daddy Don Garlits in Ocala. We've done this a few times and it is always fun. Lunch at Sonny's BBQ.
July 27th.. Brooklyn Pizza and the Vampire Penguin afterwards. .. as Ron says ..... Yummieeeee......
August 4th.. Back to the Trop to see another Rays game. A great turnout with tailgating prior to the game. Burgers, beer and cornhole. Life is good.
August 31st.. Another sweet treat run to Sweet Charlies Rolled Ice Cream.
Sept 14th.. A trip to Bradenton to Sea Haggs Nautical Museum. Lunch afterwards at the Seafood Shack.
Sept 21st.. Sweet treat stop at Dairy Joy in Tampa.
Oct 6th.. Back to the Hofbrauhaus. Always a good time and good eats too !
Oct 20.. Fords Garage for lunch. Man those are good burgers.
Oct 26th.. Game Show Ride #6 A wacky countryside ride that has contestants answering zaney questions along the way. New champions crowned this year. Congrats Woody and Rosemary. Our new champions... for now.
Nov 8th and 9th.. Our annual overnight trip to Ft Pierce for the Summer Crush Winery Miata gathering. Rain put a damper on overall attendance but it didn't stop our group from having a great time. Got to admit.... we looked good in those orange shirts.
Nov 23rd.. Ford Vs. Ferrari. What a great movie and we had the place to ourselves.
Dec 6th.. Holiday lights at Chick Fil-A. Always a fun event.
Dec 7th.. The Dade City Holiday Run. Another annual event for our group.
Dec 8th.. The StarLite lunch cruise. Good eats and a perfect day for a boat ride.
Dec 14th.. Our annual Holiday party. Held at Leo's in Palm Harbor. Dirty Santa gift exchange, fine food with great friends. A great way to end up the year.

March, April, May, June 2019 Events

Once again, so much going on we can't list them all. Along with the monthly meetings and the Sweet Treat runs, here's just some of the recent happenings .....
March 3rd.. Fun trip to the Showman's Museum in Riverview where we were shown the history of the traveling shows in America.
March 24th.. Back to Fords Garage for some darn good eats.
March 31st.. A large group of SunRiders had a great trip to Mote Marine in Sarasota Fl with lunch afterwards at Daiquiri Deck. So much to see there..... and watching Maya interact with the otters was priceless.
April 7th.. Our spring club picnic at John Chestnut Senior Park in Palm Harbor. Once again catered by Sonnys BBQ..... Tasty !!!! Jim and Dean continued their world domination at cornhole.
April 20.. Fabulous ride to the Suncoast Center of Fine Scale Modeling. The trip getting there included some roads in Pinellas County we didn't know existed.
April 27th.. Ride to Aripeka and Pine Island. This was a fun curvy route to get there with lunch that everyone enjoyed !! We wanna do this one again.
May 5th.. Gill Dawgs in New Port Richey. Fun ride to get there and lunch by the water. Even the monsoon and winds didn't put a damper on this trip. (Pun intended)
May 11th.. A great trip to the Lakeridge Winery in Clermont FL. A tour of the winery, lunch and some fine music.
May 18th.. Baseball time !! Strike out cancer night with the Charlotte Stonecrabs vs. Clearwater Threshers. Where else can you see a game, eat all the burgers, hotdogs, peanuts, drinks and ice cream you want for $15. And fireworks at the end !! Everyone had a great time.
June 8th.. Cars and Coffee Wesley Chapel. Some great looking cars at this one.
June 28th.. Brooklyn Pizza & Vampire Penguin. Pizza and a dessert what else could you want. (we're still trying to figure out how they do it.... melt in your mouth good)

Dec 2018 Jan/Feb 2019 Events

More things going on that we can fit on the page. Just some of the recent happenings .....

Dec 1st.. The annual Holiday party. This year held at Leo's Italian Grill. Another big turnout with all the holiday cheer and friendship.

Dec 9th.. Ever been to Yalaha FL ? ... Well we have. Our first ride to the Yahala Bakery. Serving high quality German products made with the highest culinary standards. Darn good eats.

Jan 5th.. Dade City car show. Always a club favorite.

Jan 6th.. Back to the Mecum auction in Kissimmee Fl. If you haven't been to this one before, don't miss it next time we go. A car spectacular.

Jan 18th.. Another Sweet Treat ride to the Swah-Rey in St Petersburg. Tasty... Mike, have you finished the piece of cake yet ?

Jan 25th.. Our first trip to the IMSA series Rolex 24 at Daytona. Great eats, great hotel and 24 hours of great racing between 4 different classes of sports cars. The Mazda prototypes didn't do so well... but wait till next year. We're gonna do this trip again.

Feb 10th.. Back to Maple Lanes for bowling and dinner afterwards. Definitely a fun outing.

Feb 16th.. duPont Cars and Coffee. Meet up at 5:30.... that would be AM. About a dozen cars showed up. After this show we went over to Dimmitt for more exotic cars.

Feb 23rd. A great trip to Sarasota for the Lakewood Ranch annual car show. Some real beauties here for sure. Lunch afterwards at MacAllisters Grill & Tavern.

Sept/Oct/Nov Events

Just way too many events to list them all, been another busy few months......

Sept, Oct, Nov - Monthly Sweet Treat stops. More Ummm Good

Sept 16th... Back to the Nav-A-Gator for lunch and some fun afterwards. Always a club favorite event.

Sept 22nd.. Breakfast at Mama's in Seminole then a field trip to Allen's Sports Center to check out some club merchandise items.

Oct 20th.. Lake Mirror Auto Show in Lakeland. Some fine looking cars at this one.

Oct 21st.. Starlite Sapphire Lunch Cruise. What more could you want. Great friends, good food and what a view.

Oct 28th.. Can you say beer and brats.. Back to the Hofbrauhous for lunch.

Nov 10th.. The first Summer Crush Miata Cruise In Winery event. Put on by the South Florida Miata Club. This overnight event was attended by about 10 clubs in Florida. 16 cars from our club made the event, Great turnout with about 110 Miatas on site for this first year event. It was a great weekend. Several members went to Sebring on Sunday to catch the MX5 Cup Challenge race.

June/July/Aug Events

No slowing down for the summer here....

June 10th... another trip to Fords Garage. Man that place has some good burgers.

June 12th meeting at the Roost in St Pete Beach. Love that chicken...

June 23rd.. Jim D. joined the band on stage to rock the house at Capt Bills. He's one talented guy with that axe.

June 29th.. another ice cream run.... Yummmm

July 8th... We had so much fun at Hamburger Marys, we just had to go back again for a Sunday brunch.

July 10th... club meeting at Sea Sea Riders.

July 15th... Sunday afternoon bowling with dinner at Red Lobster afterwards.

July 27th... we do like our ice cream.... OK we did it again.... Yum Version 2

August 1st... take us out to the Ball Game....A large group went to watch the Rays clobber the LA Angels. We're gonna do that again... always a great time. We made the marque !

Aug 2nd and 3rd. The annual trip to the tail of the dragon in Deals Gap NC. A large group made the trip and had a great time.

April/May Events

Just some of the happenings lately.

April 22nd, Lee organized a trip to Hooters in New Port Richey. Wings and friends, life is good.

April 29th, Bill took us to Bok Tower. Always a great place to visit.

May 8th. 40 members showed up for club meeting at Hamburger Marys. What a good time we had.

May 12th, Woody led the group to the Gypsy Horse Farm in Ocala. Beautiful animals and property !

May 19th, Frank guided us to Cars and Coffee at Peter O Knight airport on Davis Island. It was well worth the early morning start. Lunch afterwards at Village Inn. Ron with the official SunRiders presidential crown... or it could just be an octopus.

May 25th, The first summer Ice cream sweet treat meet up at Copenhagen Cafe in Tarpon Springs. Thanks Leslie for suggesting this one.

May 26th, Marc took us to Caffine and Cars in Lutz. Lunch at Cheddars Kitchen. Ummm.

March/April Events

March 24th was the every other year or so annual Gameshow Ride. This was GSR number 5 hosted by Dean and Judy. From cow's to gator heads to blueberry syrup, this back country 2 hour ride had contestants answering questions along the way. Lunch at Beef O'Bradys in Brooksville where winners were determined. A mooing time was had by all.

April 8th was the 2018 Spring Picnic. Organized by Mike, Machell, Jim and Kim, this event was held at Picnic Island in south Tampa. Almost 50 members came out for this event catered by Jimbo's BBQ. Games, food and activities made up a fun day. Where else could you unwrap a giant ball of cellophane and discover hidden prizes inside ? The weather held out for us and everyone had a great time. (I have no idea what Paula is doing. With so much going on, I missed that event)

Feb/March Events

On Feb 25th, Woody led a large group to Bob's Trains in Sarasota. We had lunch in the dining car and visited the circus memorabilia museum in the other cars. A unique place to visit.

The weekend of the March 16th, a group organized by Jim and Kim went to Jekyll Island in Georgia for the Caffeine and Octane at the Beach Car Show. The 3 day event is a celebration of all things motorized and cool.

A return trip for next year is in the planning stages..

Dec/Jan Events

December and January was packed with stuff to do.

December:

A large group went to Dade City for the Holiday car show. Lunch at Kafe' Kokopelli.

A Holiday ride at the beach.Lunch at Gators.

The Holiday Party on the Starlite Cruise boat.

January:

The Mecum auction in Kissimmee.

Fords Garage in Tampa for lunch.

The Dupont Registry car show.

Several members took a Caribbean cruise.

November Events 2017

Been a busy month:

On the 5th, a large group went to the Vintage Motor Classic in St Petersburg. Breakfast at the Hanger Restaurant.

Friday the 10th, we all went to Ricks on the River in Tampa to see the Dreamfire Band.

The 11th was a trip to the Carlisle Auto Fest in Lakeland. Breakfast at Buddy Freddies.

The 12th was bowling in Clearwater with dinner afterwards at BJ's.

On the 18th, everyone went to the International Car Show in Tampa with lunch at Champions.

October Events 2017

Many thanks to Frank for leading a large turnout of cars to the Lake Mirror car show on the 21st. John had one of his many trucks there entered in the show. Breakfast was at Fresco's... ummm

On the 29th, Mike and Machell took us to the Hofbrauhaus House in St Pete. 34 people attended and enjoyed some fine German food, music, a brew or two and some great Sunrider friends.

Sarasota Car Museum

Sept 2, 2017

A big thank you to JP and Midge for leading a 16 car Sunrider event to the Sarasota Car Museum. Lunch afterwards at the Ringling Muse Restaurant.

Sunriders got them blues..

Back in May, a group of Sunriders got together to check out this little known band playing at Ricks on the River in Tampa. It was a fun evening and they ain't half bad. Another outing to see them is in the works.

2014 Holiday Party

2010 Philippe Pk Picnic

The annual Philippe Park picnic is always a fun time. It is one of the best attended events out club does. You never know whats on the menu. What day is it on again ?

2009 Dinner Cruise

In 2009, a group of Sunriders got together on the Star Ship dinner cruise out of Tampa.

2008 St Augustine Trip

In 2008, we had a great trip to St Augustine. Lots of activities and some great restaurants were visited. The ghost tour was bone chilling.... the Lighthouse was haunting.... thanks John and CC for this one.

2008 Punta Gorda Trip

Woody led the group to Fishermans Village in Punta Gorda. As usual, a fun trip with good friends and lot's to eat.

2007 Kennedy Space Ctr

The 2007 Kennedy Space Ctr trip was a blast. Good eats, friends and some surprises. Ralph's sister had the whole group over to their home for dinner. The next day, we met up with the Space Coast Miata Club for breakfast.

2007 Solomans Castle

Woody took us on another great trip in 2007 to the world famous Solomans Castle. The creations on this wonderful man is amazing. The castle and the boat in the moat restaurant are something to see.
