Amelia Island Concours and Associated Events - March 8 - 10, 2019 Friday to Sunday
Event website: https://www.ameliaconcours.org/
This is a great weekend to view beautiful and significant cars in a great setting. There are auctions and displays of automobilia at the host site, which is the Ritz-Carlton directly on the Atlantic Ocean. A Porsche event takes place at another location.
I've put this event loosely, so that each member can make their own arrangements based on the days they want to attend. I've selected a hotel that is about 1 hour south of the show site. Each member can reserve on their own. There are also other hotels available.
Hotel Info: Book by February 15, 2019 to get negotiated price of $137.70 per night, plus tax of about $17.90 per night, for a total of $311.20 for 2 nights. Use the confirmation number: 83624673 (also mention Sun Riders Miata Club) This is for a room for two people with a king size bed. If you prefer two queen size beds, you must ask at the time of reservation.
Hampton Inn Jacksonville East Regency Square, 1021 Hospitality Lane, Jacksonville, FL 32225

This hotel is right off 295. It is close to downtown Jacksonville and the Jacksonville beaches, and about 45 minutes to Amelia Island.
Here is a synopsis of the events: (see the Amelia Island website for more details)
Friday, March 8 - Cars in the Concours tour around the area and end up in downtown Fernandina Beach for a show while the owners have lunch. This is a great time to see some of the cars and also some of the celebrities. After the show, you can choose to have lunch or go to the Ritz Carlton to get a chance to see the RM Sotheby's display of cars that will be auctioned. Another possibility is to go over to a Porsche club event.
Saturday, March 9 - After an early breakfast, we suggest travelling to the Airport parking lot ($10) and taking the shuttle to the Ritz Carlton. The Cars and Coffee show takes place on the 10th and 18th fairways of the Golf Club of Amelia Island. Free Admission. For those who haven't been to the Ritz-Carlton, they can visit after the show.
Sunday, March 10 - After an early breakfast, we suggest travelling to the Airport parking lot ($10) and taking the shuttle to the Ritz Carlton. Proceed directly to the show field Gates open at 9:30 AM- Adult Ticket $ 100.00/ $125.00 at the gate. We suggest that viewing the cars up until about 2 - 3 PM provides enough time and makes for a reasonable trip home.

This event is set so people can fit the event into their schedule in any way they like. We may not have a formal ride together to get to the event. We would just make arrangements to meet at the hotel and at the event after some discussion. I've arranged for rooms Friday and Saturday, but it probably would not be difficult to add a day as well.
It's worth the trip if you enjoy classic cars and exposure to the luxury lifestyle.
